1. President Obama wanted the American people to know that we will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before.
2. Credit in America is how you finance the purchase of everything from a home to a car to a college education; how stores stock their shelves, farms buy equipment, and businesses make payroll. Credit can start flowing if the Obama administration does several things. First, creating a new lending fund that represents the largest effort ever to help provide auto loans, college loans, and small-business loans to the consumers and entrepreneurs who keep this economy running. Second, launch a housing plan that will help responsible families facing the threat of foreclosure lower their monthly payments and refinance their mortgages. Third, act with the full force of the federal government to ensure that the major banks that Americans depend on have enough confidence and enough money to lend even in more difficult times. And when we learn that a major bank has serious problems, congress will hold accountable those responsible, force the necessary adjustments, provide the support to clean up their balance sheets, and assure the continuity of a strong, viable institution that can serve our people and our economy.

4. Responsibility needs to happen from Americans by not taking our mortgages that they know they can’t afford, or even just buy things they know they have no business in buying. Our banks to need to take Responsibility for giving out toxic loans to unqualified buyers, when our banks fail us, we see what happens to the rest of America, we fall as one.

When President Obama said it is not about the banks, it is about the people, he meant that, by bailing out the banks, it’s supposed to help the American people receive credit so they can purchase major items such as a car loan, home loan and a college education. When our banks give our toxic loans to people it’s throwing away our money, and our banks need to be held responsible.
6. The three areas that President Obama’s budget will focus on are energy, health care and education. All three of these areas are just as important as each other. Me being selfish, education is the most important out of all three because next year I'm going to be in college and paying for my education. With budget cuts and tuition going up, I don’t want to pay thousands of extra dollars to go to school. But hands down, the energy has to be the most important. America depends on foreign oil to much, and I believe is the reason the U.S. went into Iraq. America needs to become more energy efficient. If we keep leaving our carbon footprint on everything then our world the way we know it, will end. Global warming is real, and is happening and something needs to be done about it.
7. Every day bankruptcy in America happens every 30 seconds to Americans because of health care. By the end of the year, it could cause 1.5 million Americans to lose their homes. In the last eight years, premiums have grown four times faster than wages. What needs to be done is, invest in electronic health records and new technology that will reduce errors, bring down costs, ensure privacy, and save lives. It will launch a new effort to conquer a disease that has touched the life of nearly every American, by seeking a cure for cancer in our time. And it makes the largest investment ever in preventive care, because that's one of the best ways to keep our people healthy and our costs under control.

Right now, three-quarters of the fastest-growing occupations require more than a high school diploma, and yet just over half of our citizens have that level of education. We have one of the highest high school dropout rates of any industrialized nation, and half of the students who begin college never finish. This can be a community college or a four-year school, vocational training or an apprenticeship. But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than a high school diploma.
9. I felt that President Obama’s speech was reassuring. Every time you turn on the news, it’s always about people losing their jobs, or losing their homes, it’s scary times right now. I felt that President Obama covered everything that needed to be covered, and covered it well. When I look at the 3 main points of Obama’s budget, energy, health care and education, it all affects me in some way. I don’t like paying $4 for a gallon of gas, I don’t want my medical bills to be so overwhelming where my parents have to file bankruptcy and final, I don’t want my college education to be thousands of unnecessary dollars. Listening to President Obama speak Tuesday night reassured me that everything will be better, and that every American has a part to do.
1) The President assured the nation that we will "rebuild...recover...and emerge stronger than before". He made it clear that getting out of this recession would take some time and some effort, and the talents and participation of every American would be necessary. He advised that we take advantage of new ways to harbor energy, reform health care, and improve education across the states. We will need to focus on "long-term prosperity" and make fiscally responsible decisions.
2) The credit crisis has "severely weakened our financial system". Because of all the bad loans banks are holding, they are afraid to start lending again. Reestablishing lending and issuing credit is necessary because "when there is no lending, families can't afford to buy homes or cars. So businesses are forced to make layoffs. Our economy suffers even more, and credit dries up even further".

4) Americans need to start making more intelligent financial decisions. We need to allay the air of greed surrounding our country, and not spend money that is not available to us. We need to cut down on frivolous spending. Additionally, people in positions of power need to accept responsibility and be held accountable for irresponsible spending decisions they make.
5) This bailout is intended to help the people, and the assistance banks will receive will do just that. Bank bailouts are occurring so that credit will again be available, so that a "young family can finally buy a new home...some company will hire workers to build it...workers will have money to spend...investors will return to the market, and American families will see their retirement secured once more". Loosening up credit pump confidence back into the people and encourage them to go out and stimulate the economy.

This is because as the years progress, the emphasis on the importance of education in this country regresses. Obama expressed his opposition to this belief, saying that "a good education is no longer just a pathway to opportunity - it is a pre-requisite". He said that he will prioritize education, and a goal of his administration is to "ensure that every child has access to a complete and competitive education - from the day they are born to the day they begin a career".
7) Obama received bipartisan applause when he stated that "health care reform cannot wait, it must not wait, and it will not wait another year." He pointed out that in the last eight years, health care costs have increased four times faster than wages. This resulted in nearly eight million Americans losing coverage. Obama is working towards providing "quality, affordable health care for every American", going on to say that it's a commitment "paid for in part by efficiencies in our system that are long overdue".
8) The quality of education in the United States has declined. The President is challenging every member of the younger generation to attend at least one year of college. He wants teachers to be more effective and he wants parents to take more responsibility in ensuring a good education for their children.
9) The President's speech was all the above. I feel like he communicated his message really well, and he was honest and candid. I did feel that, like some of his other speeches, it was quite redundant. Overall, I think he effectively gained additional public support for his stimulus law.

2. Credit is extremely important because like Obama stated, it it "the lifeblood of our economy." It is the lack of confidence the American people have in the banks that has weakened the economy. What American's need to do is realize that their money and insurance is secure and to become more responsible with the way they finance their purchases. This in the end will get lending started again and also help better our economy.

4. What Americans basically need to do to become more economically responsible is to purchase only things they CAN afford, not what they WANT to afford. By doing this the amount of bankruptcy's can be expected to minimize, therefore improving credit.
5. Obama meant that the solution to this crisis is not saving the banks, but the American citizens. With this bailout Americans will be able to build up credit, and with that credit they will be able to give loans. These loans come from the banks. Therefore it is up to the American people to get the ball rolling and stimulate the economy. It is because of the people that banks will be up and running again.
6. The three areas of focus are energy, health care, and education? The most important, I believe, is health care. It is most important to improve health care because it is one of the main reasons so many people have lost their jobs and is has also been a direct cause of the increasing in our budget.
7. Healthcare is a problem because it's cost causes a bankruptcy every 30 seconds. It could also cause 1.5 million Americans to lose their homes by the end of the year. Most importantly, it has caused millions of Americans to lose their health insurance.
One thing that must be changed is technology, it must be severely advanced. With this new technology there will be a reduction in errors, ensure privacy, and save lives.

Our nation is being out-taught and could lead us to defeated by competition. Another problem is that many of the teachers in America are not qualified to teach, and this is one problem the recovery plan is looking to fix. Thought the recovery plan will do a lot to reform education it is up to teachers, students, and all American citizens to help as well. Obama's challenge to America is to get more than just a high school diploma. He states, "It's not just quitting on yourself; it's quitting on your country. And this country needs and values the talents of every American." Our goal is to have the highest amount of college graduates by 2020.
9. I felt that Obama's speech was very good and very moving. It was literally moving since it had over 40 standing ovations. I felt Obama explained his plan extremely well and in a way that was easily understood. With his speech he increased my confidence in this recovery plan and I'm sure that was also true to several others.
1) In regards to the recession, president Obama stated the following: “The impact of this recession is real, and it is everywhere. But while our economy may be weakened and our confidence shaken, though we are living through difficult and uncertain times, tonight I want every American to know this: We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before”. Basically, he told us that we’re experiencing tough times but we’re going to get out of this. He also claims that not only are we going to recover; but also, we’re going to be stronger than ever before.
2) Obama made it clear that credit is the main concern for most people when he said, “there will be no real recovery unless we clean up the credit crisis that has severely weakened our financial system. The concern is that, if we do not re-start lending in this country, our recovery will be choked off before it even begins. You see, the flow of credit is the lifeblood of our economy. The ability to get a loan is how you finance the purchase of everything from a home to a car to a college education, how stores stock their shelves, farms buy equipment, and businesses make payroll”. We can get the ball rolling again by spending our money wisely in the future and not taking out loans or spending money that we don’t have.

4) In order to be more economically responsible, Americans need to discipline themselves. They need to resist spending money that they don’t have and accepting loans that they can’t afford to pay back. Personally, I need to spend my money wisely. That includes both long and short term investments.
5) When Obama said that “It's not about helping banks; it's about helping people” I think that he was conveying a message to the banks that helped put us in the situation we’re in now. He was saying that his stimulus package isn’t intended to save the banks and business owners that made mistakes and ruined the economy, but rather, to help out the people that were affected by the mistakes that were made by the banks and business owners.
6) The three areas are energy, health care and education. It’s hard to choose which of these is the most important, but I’d have to say that its energy. The reason that I chose energy is because if we don’t figure out ways to reduce global warming and pollution, there won’t be any people that need medical attention or students to educate because the planet would be destroyed.

And it is one of the largest and fastest-growing parts of our budget. Given these facts, we can no longer afford to put health care reform on hold”. There are a few things that will need to change. We pretty much need to make a bunch of renovations to our current health care system in order to make health care available to everyone. We also need new, efficient technology. Along with that, further research in the areas pertaining to curing diseases needs to be done.

He also mentioned the lack of resources and the teacher shortage that exists in our system. Obama’s challenge was for “every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. This can be a community college or a four-year school, vocational training or an apprenticeship. But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than a high school diploma”.
9) I thought that this speech was good. Obama was supposed to address Congress and the American people, and he accomplished that. The standing ovations were a bit much, but that’s cool I guess. The speech pretty much met my expectations.
1)Obama advises all, that understanding whaht got us into this recession will be the key to getting us out of it. and that he has a comprehensive plain laid out to deal with it, where the first step is to deal with the credit crisis.

Obama has a plan to first provide a credit to help with auto loans, and then also to provide homeowners in danger of foreclosure with a credit to refinance their homes so they can afford them.

4)America needs to set up a set of regulations for the economy to prevent this from happening again. So major corporations are not poorly managed for years and years. The people themselves need to be smarter about loans they take out, and borrowing against their mortgages, which is never a good idea.
5) While the plan will bail out the banks, that is not the main focus. The main focus is to create jobs, to have clean energy, and to better the education and healthcare systems. In essence, to secure a batter standard of living for americans, and to create jobs for them to work.
6) President Obama's budget will focus on education, energy, and healthcare. All of these things are of dire importance for America, but in my opinion education tops the list. Because all of what america does, or hopes to do depends on what happens in the classrooms.

It is the reason many small businesses close their doors as well, and in those eight years over a million more have lost their health insurance. the recovery plan will invest in electronic health records and new technology that will reduce errors, bring down costs, ensure privacy, and save lives. Also, a large sum is being put to cancer prevention studies to try and find a cure.

America has one of the highest drop out rates of any industrialized nation, and the majority of those who start college will never finish. Barack Obama asks everyone to complete at least one year of higher education, be it a trade school, a four year school, an apprenticeship, or community college; a highschool diploma is no longer good enough.
9)In my opinion, the speech was very specific on everything that needed to be done, and provided detailed explanations of what he planned to do to solve these problems. There wasnt any time during the speech where i didnt know exactly what he planned to do, and exacty what the problem was, which i really liked. It was a very revolutionary speech, because not only did he say what he proposed to do, he told the people what they needed to do, and asked for our help. This bings the people closed together in my opinion, and will most likely drive people to not only better themselves for themselves, but for the good of their country.

Without credit our economy recovery will “choke off” before it gets started.

4) America needs to confront at last the price of our dependence on oil and the high cost of health care, the schools that aren't preparing our children, and the mountain of debt they stand to inherit. President Obama said that this was America’s responsibility. It is our generation’s responsibility to reform our bad habits of oil addiction, bad credit, and horrible education. It is also my generation responsibility to invest in the stages of our economy that need more development, such as energy and healthcare.
5) When President Obama meant when he said, “It is not about helping the banks, it is about helping the people.” He was addressing the failed bank bail out plan administered earlier during this recession. He pointed out that Wall Street has been too comfortable taking advantage of help from the government and holding no one accountable for mishaps. He assured that he would intend to hold banks fully accountable for the assistance they get and that the banks will have to clearly demonstrate how taxpayer dollars are used. Most importantly he stated, “This time -- this time, CEOs won't be able to use taxpayer money to pad their paychecks, or buy fancy drapes, or disappear on a private jet. Those days are over.”
6) President Obama continued, “That is why, even as it cuts back on programs we don't need, the budget I submit will invest in the three areas that are absolutely critical to our economic future: energy, health care, and education.” The most important area in his budget, in my opinion, would have to be education. Without a strong foundation of education there will be no hope for the energy and health care industries. The fact is that our education system should be the best and the most rigorous. This is the only way our country can truly become a “force to be reckoned with” within the world.
7) President Obama stated, “The cost of health care eats up more and more of our savings each year, yet we keep delaying reform.” He also stated, “This is a cost that now causes a bankruptcy in America every 30 seconds. By the end of the year, it could cause 1.5 million Americans to lose their homes. In the last eight years, premiums have grown four times faster than wages. And in each of these years, 1 million more Americans have lost their health insurance.” These are disturbing statistics but severely and sadly true. Things that must change are investing in electronic health records, invest in expanded research on diseases plaguing our generation, and putting huge focus on preventive care.
8) In terms of education our biggest problem is that three quarters of our fastest growing occupations require more than a high school diploma, and just half of our citizens have that level of education. Half of the college students that begin college never finish. This is a huge problem. Here Obama is challenging us to complete just one more year of higher educational learning. This could be through vocational school, university, or an apprenticeship. There will be no more drop outs. This is something we must do in order to challenge ourselves and glorify America once again.
9) Overall, the state of the union was moving and it was his best speech so far. I honestly believe that with the focus being put onto what really needs to be addressed in this administration, the country will pull itself up again by its “bootstraps”. - Or in our case, laces. – In times of desperation I am glad that we have someone with a headstrong attitude and it is refreshing to be convinced of something and having hope for ourselves instead of pity.
1) The advice President Obama gave to Americans was that “we will rebuild, and recover and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before.” President Obama said this in a way that he knows what Americans are going through. "What is required now is for this country to pull together, confront boldly the challenges we face, and take responsibility for our future once more." So in others words no time to point fingers, we all need to be responsible because what we do know effects the next generation.
2) President Obama said that recovery plan is just the first step. Since that banks are not lending money any more (because of bad loans) because "banks are now fearful of lending out any more money to households, to businesses, or even to each other. And when there is no lending, families can’t afford to buy homes or cars. So businesses are forced to make layoffs." so in order to get the gears moving American should get smart loans from banks otherwise there would be a domino effect.

4) Spend wisely. Like what we discussed in class, Americans are consumers so they would purchase items that are not needed. Spend wisely and purchase wisely. "First, we are creating a new lending fund that represents the largest effort ever to help provide auto loans, college loans, and small business loans to the consumers and entrepreneurs who keep this economy running."
5) Like question 2, Americans purchases and loans affect our country dramatically. "You see, the flow of credit is the lifeblood of our economy." Without wise spending from Americans, the recovery plan would mean nothing. Its about giving money to people by helping the banks to get people borrow more money to use on a need item.
6) There are more than three areas that the budget focuses on. There is Health care, Education, Energy, Lending, increase number in soldiers and Marines, and helping banks. I believe the most important is helping the banks. If the banks go under so will all the other funding; like health care, education, etc. Money is what makes the world go round and if the bank is shutting their doors from Americans that need loans it may send America in a tipsy.
7) One of the largest problems that America is facing is that most Americans can't afford health care. The recovery plan claims to provide health insurance to 11 million American children to who's parents are working full time.

With the recovery plans help; "this budget creates new teachers — new incentives for teacher performance; pathways for advancement, and rewards for success. We’ll invest in innovative programs that are already helping schools meet high standards and close achievement gaps." Teachers, students, and Americans can participate in President Obama's request; to commit at least one year or more to higher education.
9) This was the first State of Union I watch and read. It was comforting to know that the President is clarifying his plans. The speech in whole was tedious (to me) but only few parts like lending money from banks, and education were appealing. The energy piece was attention-grabbing.

2. In order to get our credit back on track, President Obama stated that “Because of every American should know that it directly affects you and your family’s well-being.” We use credit from college tuition to buying a house. If credit isn’t fixed, there’s no way our economy will recover.

In order for this country to be responsible is to “confront at last the price of our dependence oil and the high cost of health care, the schools that aren’t preparing our children and the mountain of debt they stand to inherit.” As the next generation, we to advance in our studies as in energy wise, and be prepare to cut back on certain things such as the way we use our credit, the way we spend our money, since we will be the generation to pay for all of this.
5. President Obama pointed out that Wall Street has been very comfortable and taking advantage of the government. He wants to hold the banks accountable for every cent of the taxpayers’ dollars. He also assures us that this time CEOs won’t add amenities to their lifestyles at our expense.

Right now this country complains that it has a huge percentage of dropouts, but there aren’t enough teachers to where students can be taught. We need to pay teachers a higher salary so we can get the required materials needed to graduate. The cut backs on school budget has affect many kids because some parents don’t have enough money to buy there kids the required materials for school, and teachers cannot always afford it with the salary they have.

9. The speech of President Obama was boring at first, but once he got to the three areas that are critical to our economic future got my attention. He spoke about energy, that it will lead the 21st century. Health care to where a lower class person can afford it, especially for the younger ones who really need it the most. When he got to talking about education caught my eye even more because we really need money for the school. How will they cut the budget off of after school activities, if activities like that get kids out of trouble? Now that they will have to pay, many schools wont have any after school activities. We will see more kids get into more trouble.

His budget will help create 3.5 million jobs over the next two years and 95% of working households will receive tax cuts; although, this is not all it will do. Later in his speech, he said, "Slowly but surely, confidence will return." Things will take time with this recession.

In order to "start the ball rolling again" Obama said that banks need to not fear lending out money to Americans because Americans rely on that money to buy homes, cars, and a college education.

4. In order for America to become more economically responsible, long term investments need to be made. One of the biggest long term investments would be becoming more energy efficient and creating renewable energy. Obama claimed that this would save billions of dollars.
5. When Obama said, "It is not about the banks, it is about the people," he meant that Americans are what keep the economy and government running. If Americans did not spend money then the government wouldn't have money. He claimed that he will not spend a single dime on CEOs.

4. Responsibility is what is going to keep our country running. CEO's won't use our tax money to take trips with their private jets because President Obama refuses to let that happen. Their job is to govern with more responsibility. Obama will help the struggling family whom can't come up with the mortgage. We need to turn our trust to banks and put money there because it will improve the economy.

When obama said, "It is not about the banks, it is about the people," he meant he wants Americas to have a better future, to have the same opportunity as anyone else without having the struggle of money, anything is reachable. The bailout is more about the people because we are the people whom deposit our money to banks, if we do not deposit our money in banks the bank industry will completely go down. When credit is available again, the potential family will return to the market, confidence will return.

I believe energy is the most important because if America is able to consume energy our country will go a long way because we will be able to consume things better. We wouldn't spend as much, overall the country will be cleaner and safer having less worries. After that it would be education. Without education, the average America will not make a productive income.

America cannot afford to put health care reform aside, it is time to act now. Obama stated that they have done more in thirty days than they have in the last couple of years. The recovery plan will invest to launch recovery plans and hopefully find a cure for cancer. This is a step we need to take to make the deficit go down throughout the years. Health care will not wait another year.

We do not want other countries to out beat us. Just over half of the citizens have an education. It is the goal of the administration to provide the necessity means to enable us with the products needed. They have made college affordable for $7 million more students. Schools need more reforms. For teachers and students, their will be tests for qualified teachers. It is the responsible for citizens to receive that education. Obama wants citizens to at least attend one year of college or four year school. Every America needs to have higher than a high school education. Every American has the potential in doing so. That is why the government will help us, they want to provide a better future. If we are able to help out in the community Obama will surely help us in our tuition. "Responsibility for education must begin at home, it is not a republican nor a democratic issue."
9. My overall perception of the speech was moving. President Obama realizes that the stimulus package will not solve everything but it will lead us in the proper direction. That is what I look up to. He is enables us to the proper direction. It is a good jump start to any problem. I believe it is a wonderful thing that he will stop CEO's in taking nonsense trips with our tax money. Obama and his team will help the education system. Nothing can be better than that. Our education is all we have in life, it is where we can get far in life, without education, we have nothing. On April he will start sending off checks to families struggling to pay payments. The health care situation was great. He wants Americans to put the trust in the government like it was before, and I believe he is taking the right road in doing so.

If Americans can spend money on "bigger investments" then getting auto loans or student loans would be easier and could help by going towards the government federal money.

In my opinion, Education would be the most important point because without the proper education then our government and our economy will only further fall into a recession because people won't know what they are doing. People that can't figure out priorities will only cause the company or even the government to fail.

By pointing fingers at Congress, Obama is making sure that America knows what their job entitles and for America to figure out if Congress is doing their job.
President Obama announced that although the recession is a tough one, “it is real, and it is everywhere”, together with Congress, they are going to take the first steps towards bettering our nation. “We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before.”
Credit is a main concern because it is “the lifeblood of our economy”. In order to buy houses, cars, or pay for college tuitions, most families get loans but with all the debt the banks are trusting very few so loans aren’t being made and credit isn’t being gained. In order to start the ball rolling again people need to start spending more. Once the banks have more confidence in the public and they start giving out loans and people start spending then we will have the ball rolling.
The first six minutes of the clip was nothing but clapping and nine second into Obama speaking, everybody stood up and clapped all over again for his wife. There were really way too many standing ovations to count, about 40 I believe.
In order for America to be more economically responsible people need to stop buying things they cant afford. You can’t waste the money you don’t have. People have to start paying for all the things they have already bought, all our personal debts like credit cards need to be paid off before we start spending money we barely have on things we don’t need. Also we need to start learning how to save money, since our Social Security money is all gone.
In order for our economy to get better we need to do something about the banking systems, but restoring the banks isn’t the main priority which is why Obama says, “It is not about the banks, it is about the people.” In order to get to the main goal, which is better the economy for the American people, we need to start with fixing the root problems. If the banking systems are fixed then money gets loaned out and the economy will start to improve. You have to start out fixing the little things, bank systems, in order to help the bigger picture; the American public.
The budget is going to focus on energy, health care, and education. I think that the most important one is probably the energy because if we can be free of our dependency of foreign oils and come up with better and cheaper energy sources then we will save our nation thousands of dollars on energy bills. Once we are free of our foreign dependency, we can work on other aspects to better our nation.
The fact that, “premiums have grown four times faster than wages. And in each of these years, 1 million more Americans have lost their health insurance” shows that health reform is a necessary component of this recovery plan. We are going to have to come up with better health care plans and plans that are available to all Americans not just those who have a lot of money.
The problem with our education is that we keep getting these absurd budget cuts and more and more teachers are being laid off. Our nation has become “one of the highest high school dropout rates of any industrialized nation, and half of the students who begin college never finish” because it is so easy to just simply give up when things get too hard. Obama is asking “every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training.” Obama is asking for all parents to contribute to the learning of their child starting at an early age and helping with homework.
In the end I think this was a really good speech. I loved the fact that about every minute and a half the entire room full would start to clap and give Obama a standing ovation; that is really what kept me from falling asleep while watching this. Also, the way President Obama talks is very interesting to watch because he makes all sorts of hand movements and he talks very sophisticatedly, plus he speaks with passion and determination. He has a lot in store for us for these next four years.

The main concern is that if we do not restart lending soon the plan will choke before it begins to take effect. By creating a new lending fund, a housing plan for responsible home owners, helping the biggest banks so they lend more money, and holding people accountable will help to restart lending.

We need to realize that becoming energy independent and a more environmentally friendly country starts at home, with each and every individual in this country. Also, we need to learn how to manage our money. Spending on luxiries you can't afford and don't need has put us in this situation. Understanding that excesses in life are a problem and changing our over-spending tendencies will bring us a step closer to getting out of the hole we've dug.
5)This bailout plan seeks to create jobs and give tax cuts to people. Although it is helping banks, it is not doing so in such a way that the owners are the only ones benefiting. He is monitoring how the money is going to be spent. If our banking system collapsed so would our economy and millions of peoples' money would be lost. Obama wants to ensure that the people are the ones benefiting from this plan rather than just the big CEOs, who, in the first place, don't need the help.

We can start the ball rolling again by creating a new lending fund and launch a housing plan that will help responsible families facing the threat of foreclosure lower their monthly payments and refinance their mortgages.

America as a whole needs to become more responsible about the way we spend. People need to stop charging their credit cards with amounts they know they can’t afford. Similarly all those people who bought houses with bad loans knowing that they didn’t qualified for such a loan but they twisted things to qualify. The banks need to be more responsible for their job and stop lending people amounts of money that they are not going to be able to pay back. We as young Americans need to look at these mistakes and learn from them so that we don’t do the same in later years and fall into a Recession again because of our irresponsible behavior.

As a student I believe that education is the most important aspect because I don’t like seeing teachers losing their jobs and have the ones who stay having to deal with much more large classes than what they used to be. Most of our buildings are very old and we have very old technology available to students. I believe that they should focus on this because we are the future of America and if we are not well prepared we are not going to be able to compete with more developed countries and we will continue to fall behind.

That facts that prove that health care is one of that largest problems that America is facing are that in the last eight years, health care costs have increased four times faster than wages which resulted in nearly eight million Americans losing coverage. The problems surrounding our Education policy in America is the quality. President Obama is challenging young students to at least attend one year of college and he wants teachers to be more effective and helpful. My overall opinion on the speech is that it was great because I think it’s great that he is doing everything he promised during his campaign. This proves that he is not like the rest of the presidents; he cares about the people and his country. I also liked that fact that he laid clear and understandable plans so that all of the Americans watching his speech at home can know what to expect in the next few months.

Obama said that getting the credit industry back is a necessity for spawning a healthy economy. If banks won’t give out loans, then people can’t buy cars, houses, or pay for a college education. Those industries will be forced to lay off workers, which really hurts our economy.

It will take a great deal of effort to get the ball rolling again, and this starts with breaking the cycle that has stopped credit from functioning the way it should, restoring our confidence, and restarting lending. To do so, a new lending fund and a new housing fund will be created. These will help Americans acquire the loans they need and help responsible families lower their monthly payments and even re-finance their mortgages. The government will make sure all the major banks in America have the confidence they need to lend money even in our unstable economy.

9. Obama’s speech was by far better than President’s Bush State of the Union speech last year. Like always the words made by Obama was motivational and inspirational. When Obama is talking its not like an other politician because his words are so lyrical and deep that it makes you want to listen closely, it paints a happy picture in your mind that even though you lost your job recently that everything will be okay and this recession will soon pass and improve us.
